There have been so many times where I hear people talk about «popular seasonal anime of the month» and I sit down and watch it and it’s like a completely different show than what was described by anitubers. Not in the literal plot content obviously but in the tone and points that it was supposedly really good at. I’ve learned to just filter out from most of these channels recommendations based on a main character’s supposed relatability or tone or basically anything refered to as “a romp” for some reason

I first watched utena when I was about 9/10, and it was a huge part of my life and changing my views of things, it hwvaily influenced me as a person and writer As a young kid who thought they were a lesbian [was trans] and had been groomed Utena as a character and show was easy for me to latch onto, it has it's many issues but it was very life changing even if I probably shouldn't have been watching it I really love this video! There was an Utena 20th anniversary manga released some time ago and while a manga is apparently canon to the anime. I do not recall if Nanami is mentioned but it does show the other student coubcil membets fates and i clearly rememver Juri and Shiori's and while they are together Shioro is a toxic and manipulative user of Juri abd after being haunted by Ruka's ghost and getting hit with visuals from the movie breaks up with Shiori and fires ger as her manager, while this video was about Nanami that last bit at the end about the ending being uolifting with their counteroarts sadly did not come true, apparently the only good ending for Juri came from Ruka and Utena's ghosts inspiring her to cut Shiori out of her life.

I could never understand why people hated her xD or thought of her as mean when the character was clearly suffering from the very beginning. I'm on minute 32 and probably 4 years too late to point this out but, at the end of the anime it IS implied that Utena became the prince. When? The moments that the Swords attack her instead of attacking Akio! Remember that Anthy's role was to distract the swords of hate that would've normally attacked the prince. When Anthy was gone, the swords then went after the prince: Utena. I watched this anime when it aired back in the 90s and it is my favorite, back then we as fans would say that the power to revolutionize the world was Love. That's why effing Akio could never get it XD

So yeah- I hope she actually doesn’t die 🥲🫶🏼
